Janice Grimes has been a Registered Nurse for over twenty years after having obtained her nursing degree in Baltimore, Maryland. The majority of her nursing career was spent in the Emergency Department and Recovery Room. She currently works in an IVF clinic in Iowa, and was in fact an IVF patient herself.

As her knowledge of IVF grew through these experiences, Janice became interested in the moral and ethical issues regarding the disclosure of genetic origins to children conceived through alternative means. She saw that parents who had undergone IVF were encouraged to disclose, but had few available tools.
