About the Author
Janice Grimes has been a Registered Nurse for over thirty years after having obtained her nursing degree in Baltimore, Maryland. The majority of her nursing career was spent in the Emergency Department and Recovery Room. She spent years working in an IVF clinic in Iowa, and was in fact an IVF patient herself.
As her knowledge of IVF grew through these experiences, Janice became interested in the moral and ethical issues regarding the disclosure of genetic origins to children conceived through alternative means. She saw that parents who had undergone IVF were encouraged to disclose, but had few available tools.
Therefore, she had a vision of creating a series of children’s books as a means to assist parents wishing to disclose. She believes that it is every child’s right to know the circumstances and special story that occurred “before they were born”.
